You won't believe what I found in my wardrobe last night.

A little background for those of you who might not know about my wardrobe:

I got my flat from the little old lady I work for when she moved in with her daughter a year ago. When she moved, she left behind a few things she didn't need anymore, and I was free to use/sell/bin them. After going through all of the furniture and things, I decided to keep this big, beautiful wardrobe, the kitchen table, a set of chairs and the night tables.

Even though I've lived here for almost a year now I hadn't really...cleaned the place up. I mean it wasn't a pigsty or anything, there were just boxes of my old school stuff and boxes of her old things still piled around the corners and whatnot because I hadn't gotten to cleaning them out yet. Well, last night after I closed up shop I decided to start going through the stuff and cleaning it out. I started with the wardrobe.

Inside there was of course, my clothes, but also piled in the back there were swaths of (very vintage!) fabric and personal effects like picture frames and hats and whatnot. Well, as I was cleaning out the bottom, I found an old box of photos.

Me being me, I couldn't resist going through them just a bit. Well they started off nice and tame, pictures of Mrs. Atkins at Hogwarts with her mates, pictures of her with family and at parties. But about, oh, fifteen pictures down I came across something I never, ever, ever wanted to see. Not at all tame pictures of Mrs. Atkins, my boss, a rather old, kind woman being very indecent with men who, decidedly, look nothing like the pictures of Mr. Atkins she's shown me.

Well after that I just closed the box up and put it back in the wardrobe. I'd feel awkward, giving it back to her myself because saying "Here, Mrs. Atkins, I found your box of dirty photos in the wardrobe and I figured you'd like them back" just does not appeal to me. I don't really want to keep them either, because now that I know what's in that box it feels kind of pervy.

Ah well.

With everything that's been going on lately, I can say that I for one am looking forward to break. I need a vacation.

And there's just one week left.

Vati and my birthday is tomorrow! I'm betting the party will be loads of fun, and I hope to see you all there (that means you, Anthony, and you, Su, even if you already told me you weren't coming).

Speaking of Su, congratulations on you and Morag being 'on' again; I was looking for you because I needed to borrow some parchment and I...found you. Both of you.

Don't worry, I found the parchment too.

School's been busy lately. Tests, essays, charts, reviews, all on top of Prefect duties. I'm exhausted. There is one little bright spot on the horizon, though.

There's only a week left until Vati and I turn eighteen.

Our party is going to be so much fun, especially since Lav's planning it. I can't wait!

I'm feeling much better now. The weather here has been quite nice and we've been having lots of fun.

Of course, Lav and I have been on our own a bit because Vati and Colin are in their own little world but that's okay.

I hope everyone else is having a lovely vacation.

Seamus? I got paired with SEAMUS?!

So. Field trip tomorrow. Should be fun.

Vati, I think I need to borrow something of yours to wear. I don't have many Muggle clothes that would look right on an outing like tomorrow's.

I hope we go to a Cinema. Or a clothing shop.

I don't have any classes today. I don't feel like getting out of bed anyway.

Neville? I got passed over for Neville?!

So. Sounds like everyone had a great time at the party. I didn't get that smashed myself, but I know lots of you did.

I think I'm going back to sleep now.

Exams are so close, I can't wait!

Justin and I had lunch down by the lake today, and we reviewed for Transfiguration. That is going to be a hard, hard exam!

After that I had a bit of a walk around the grounds and I ended up in the rose gardens. I wanted to sit down and read but I must've fallen asleep because before I knew it, it was the end of the afternoon.

I hope I don't end up having gotten sunburn.

Just 12 more days left!

Well, we're all back inside now and I'm glad. There's nothing like being back in your own bed with all of your own things and secret stash of comfort chocolate.

Camping was....okay.

So. Yeah. I'll just be going back to my homework and chocolate now.

Next time I have the bright idea to tell anybody anything that might upset them, somebody please, stop me.

I can't help feeling that if I'd never said some of the things I've said the past couple of days, none of this would've happened.
